Getting Your US Visa Photo Right: Why Quality Matters and How We Can Help

Are you planning to travel to the United States? Your visa application requires a recent photo that meets specific US requirements. Incorrect cropping, background or head position can cause delays.

US Visa Photo Requirements

A US visa photo must meet specific requirements. At Jaweed Studio, we carefully check the dimensions, background, lighting and position of your face.

1. Photo Size and Dimensions

Your printed visa photo must measure 2 × 2 inches, or approximately 51 × 51 millimetres. Your head must be centred and correctly proportioned in relation to the full photo.

2. Background and Lighting

The photo background must be white or off-white. Your face must be evenly lit, with no distracting shadows on your face or the background.

3. Facial Expression and Where to Look

Look directly at the camera and keep your head straight. Maintain a neutral expression with both eyes clearly visible. The photo must show your natural facial features accurately.

4. Glasses, Head Coverings and Accessories

Glasses are generally not permitted in US visa photos. Head coverings are only allowed if worn daily for religious reasons, and your entire face must remain visible.
